- Five years ago the 2-year-old girl was sexual assault with an object by her stepmother
- Yesterday Lauren Furneaux posted a picture of her daughter on Fabebook raising awareness of child abuse.
- In the heartbreaking message Laurent post she asked parents to hug tight their babies.
Five years ago, Lauren Furneaux prepared her two-years-old daughter Lily to spend the day with her father and stepmother Renee King at their trailer park home in New Haven. But she never imagined that king would rape and murder the toddler.
In a sweet picture of the last Christmas that Lily and her mother spent together, Laurel explained that King sexually assaulted the child with an object and slammed her head on the floor over and over again, killing her, all because the little girl threw a tantrum and soiled her underwear.
In the touching post Lauren wrote: ‘She (Lily) asked if we could go to splash village and I told her we would when there was snow on the ground. She asked if Barney could come to her birthday and I told her that he would. And the last promise I made her was that one day she wouldn’t have to go to their house.”
Lauren went on to describe the moment she was told to go to the hospital, and was told her daughter had died.
At the end of the post Lauren almost begged to share Lily’s story because there is no reason or excuse for child abuse.
Finally she wrote: “Please hug your children a little tighter and longer as none of us are promised tomorrow.’
