All the reasons the IEA debate was not worth your watch

The first Election 2016 IEA Presidential debate happened at the Kempinski Hotel on Tuesday, November 22 with only 3 presidential candidates present. They were Progressive People's Party's Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, the People's National Convention's Dr. Edward Mahama.and the independent candidate Jacob Osei Yeboah.

The other four presidential candidates were missing in action as each was in different parts of the country on their campaign train. This of course did not sit well with some candidates especially Dr Nduom who threw a jab at President Mahama for not being present at the debate.

While the event was covered by most TV stations and radio stations as well as live online streaming, many people were not interested it seems, and those that did watch came out disappointed. These are the reasons why the debate definitely was not worth the watch:

1. The big shots who would have made the debate more interesting were absent. NPP's Nana Akufo-Addo and NDC's President Mahama were both away from the debate stage leaving the entire event rather drab and very boring.

2. The candidates present were not inspiring. From all the questions asked, and the responses given, each candidate seemed to further prove why they most likely were not going to win the elections.

3. Even some TV stations stopped showing the event, which proves how little the interest in the event was by all sides. TV3 at one point cut off their broadcast to show an African movie, further stating the lack of interest in the debate.

However, there might still be a chance for redemption as the next debate will come off in Takoradi and will hopefully feature the candidates we actually want to see.
