Minister of interior, Prosper Bani, has stated that the December 7 general election will not be declared a public holiday.

Addressing the Volta regional security council and the regional election task force during a working, the interior minister states that election day will only be considered a free time for security personnel who will be deployed to ensure peace and security, December 7 will remain a working day for all workers and public servants.

Meanwhile, government is entreating all heads of institutions to “provide an enabling environment” for workers to vote come the elections.
