A large section of the road that links the Adomi Bridge to Akwamufie in the Eastern Region has caved in, leaving residents on each side unable to travel between both townships.
The asphalt on that main section of the road had been showing signs of collapse since early November but failure on the part of authorities in the area to fix it led to the eventual complete collapse of 80% of the road earlier this week.
Commuters now have to shift their routes through the long distance from Jaupong through some communities surrounding Akwamufie.
Currently, the only way in and out of the township is mostly by river transport on the Volta river.
