Court orders Obinim's arrest

Court orders Obinim's arrest

An Accra circuit court on Thursday issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Bishop Daniel Obinim, the founder of the International God's Way Church.

It follows Obinim's failure to appear in court in the case in which he beat two teenage members of his church.

Moments after the court issued the order and adjourned the case to December 13, however, Obinim appeared with his lawyers and begged the judge to rescind the decision.

The judge responded that she would only listen to them after hearing all her cases for the day.

Bishop Obinim is facing a charge of abuse while two of his associate pastors have been charged with abetment of crime. They have all denied any wrong doing and have been granted bail totaling GHc30,000.
