It seems the one week celebration of the death of the Asantehemaa was destined to be filled with drama, as a District Chief Executive for the National Democratic Congress allegedly pulled out a gun on supporters of the New Patriotic Party.
The incident occurred on grounds of the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi after when the chants of NPP supporters supposedly angered an NDC member. The said NDC member, the DCE for Sekyere Plains Donkor Fuseini, then violently pushed an NPP man without provocation, which incited the rest of the NPP supporters present.
Donkor Fuseini then apparently fled to the dais to get away from the angry mob of NPP supporters who were bent on teaching him a lesson through a beating, and then pulled out a black item which was supposedly a gun and warned anyone that came near him that they would be shot.
However, in the aftermath of the incident, when asked why he brought a gun, Donkor Fuseini stated that he did not carry a weapon but it was only a black phone that he had pulled out from his pocket.
