Fidel Castro has died at 90 years.
The Cuban revolutionary icon's brother President Raul Castro, announced the passing of Fidel Castro on national television in the early hours of Saturday, 26th November 2016.
"The commander in chief of the Cuban revolution died at 22:29 hours this evening," President Raul announced on national television.
Raul Castro told the nation that Fidel Castro wpuld be cremated early on Saturday, "in compliance with his expressed will."
Fidel Castro was on the leading world revolutionaries in the 20th century whose worldwide influence surpassed expectations given the size of his small Caribbean island.
In 2006, Fidel was hospitalized and gave up power to his younger brother, Raul Castro, who is now the current president of Cuba.
Fidel Castro reportedly survived over 600 assassination attempts, with many allegedly orchestrated by the US.
