The Electoral Commission of Ghana is in the news again for spelling the names of journalists incorrectly on their accreditation.

The EC in collaboration with the Ghana Journalist Association decided to provide accreditations for journalists and media houses for the coverage of the December polls.

Upon insurance of the accreditation cards, it emerged that the commission misspelt names of some journos on the accreditation.

For example, the EC instead of Sanda Amadu spelt Sandra Amadu, Richard Sky was spelt Richard Sly, Eugenia Tenkorang was spelt as Eugenia Yenkorang to mention a few.

The irony of the matter is that the EC disqualified some political parties who for administrative errors on their nomination forms.

Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission’s decision to charge journalists before issuing accreditation for the coverage of the 2016 presidential and parliamentary polls have been described as shameful by ace journalist, Kwami Sefa Kayi.
