The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has dismissed the bribery allegation claims by the New Patriotic Party, describing them as a political gimmick.
The NPP on Tuesday in a press conference by Mustapha Hamid, the spokesperson of the party’s flagbearer accused President John Mahama and his brother Ibrahim of trying to induce NPP’s Northern Regional Chairman, Daniel Bugri Naabu.
According to Hamid, the NDC presented goodies like SUVs, GHS3.3 million, GHS500,000 in October this year to lure Bugri Naabu into ditching and labelling Nana Akufo-Addo as tribalistic.
But the National Organiser of the governing NDC, Kofi Adams, in an interview described the allegations as baseless and unfounded.
“We have one week to an election and so the NPP as a means of creating tension, have decided to hold an unnecessary press conference just to tarnish the image of our President. They have no evidence because it is just a political gimmick,” he said on Accra-based Asempa FM.
