Upwards of three hundred known New Patriotic Party (NPP) assembly members of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly publicly defect to National Democratic Congress (NDC)
Over three hundred known members of the NPP in the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly have publicly defected to the NDC, according to the reports. The dissatisfied members stated that among their main reasons for their actions is the NPP flag-bearer's, Nana Akufo Addo, inability to unite members of the party in this year's election.
"Ever since he assumed the leadership reigns of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo has succeeded in reducing a once formidable political force to a laughing stock which is neither capable of wrestling power nor governing this country," read a portion of the statement.
According to Myjoyonline, among the defectors are Osei Sarfo Kantanka, former assembly member for Ahwemasi, an NPP polling station Chairman for Atwima Tachiman M/A Primary A School, a former Assembly Member for Kwadaso North Electoral Area, Eric Assibey, among others.
