- Sleeping in pants is dangerous for both men and women
- It can affect fertility, provoke infections and other health problems
Wearing underwear to bed is extremely bad for your health, according to an experienced American gynaecologist.
Sleeping in pants and other constricting undergarments turn your private parts into an ideal environment for bacteria to grow and flourish, causing various infections and subsequently disorders.
This is why it is really important to go commando from time to time! Moreover, your sexual partner would definitely approve your new healthy habit.
Dr Alyssa Dweck, who works for several hospitals and health centres, said: "I often tell my patients to sleep without underwear. If [the area] is constantly covered - especially by a fabric that’s not moisture-wicking or absorbent - moisture collects, creating the perfect breeding ground for bacteria or yeast."
However, if it is still not for you to stay in your birthday suit at night, then choose "breathing" cotton underpants at least. "If there’s ever a time to break out the granny panties, this would be it," Dr Dweck added.
By the way, underwear-clad men are also at risk -- they should be prepared not only for chafing, irritation and skin infections but also for bad quality sperm and fertility problems.
Remember that sleeping in the nude can also help to cool down the body temperature, which in its turn lowers blood pressure, improves your sleep quality, boosts relationship with your partner and even burns calories!
