One person has been reported dead and five injured in a clash between supporters of the ruling NDC and main opposition New Patriotic Party at Chereponi in the Northern region.
According to reports the dead person is said to be a member of the NPP.
The feud started after some NPP supporters who had returned from the party’s final rally in Accra pelted stones at an NDC crowd that had converged at the market square Monday night.

But Superintendent Henry Amankwating, who confirmed the incident said the violence began at about 8:30pm Monday after the two parties had ended their separate rallies.
"They were cutlassing people, burning stores and there were gunshots" Supt. Amankwating told Joy FM in Accra.
He opined that police and military reinforcements have arrived in the town to maintain calm, while an emergency meeting with the chiefs and other political groups is expected to take place.
