It is often heard that a number of men do not last long enough in bed and some might even go over the board and last so long that the girl gets bored. It then becomes confusing when one does not actually know how long is long enough.
So how long should sex last so a woman can get the maximum satisfaction?
In a 2015 study, it was revealed that the average length of intercourse was around 5.4 minutes (actual intercourse, excluding foreplay.) Another research found the average intercourse length to be 7.5 minutes.
A study also found that participants enjoyed 11–13 minutes of foreplay followed by 7–8 minutes of intercourse. The participants, however, said that was not enough. The woman reportedly expressed their need for longer foreplay and additional 14–16 minutes of sex.
From all these studies, we can assume that the key to understanding how long sex should last is foreplay.
Couples should engage in as much foreplay as possible before intercourse. Longer foreplay increases arousal and this means the closer she will get to orgasm when intercourse begins.
The biggest tip of all — It is all about quality. Focus on making love and enjoying quality time. Bad sex that lasts long will leave you less satisfied than good sex that went for a shorter time.
