The Ghana Education Service (GES) has declared December 7th a public holiday for teachers and students of voting age.
A statement signed by the Director-General of the GES, Jacob Kor, states that December 7th will be a public holiday for all basic and second cycle Institutions reason for this declaration is to allow teachers and students above the age of 18 to be able to exercise their civic duties.
This comes after many teachers and members of the GES lamented at the fact that while many will be able to vote, they would not be able to because they would have to be in class teaching.
