Ghanaians gathered to vote at the Methodist Primary polling station in the Kintampo North District in the Brong Ahafo Region were given the shock of their lives when an old man passed away moments after he cast his vote in the ongoing general elections.
The deceased who was known as Abudu Abudu, is reported to have queued at the polling station early in the morning and soon after he cast his ballot he experienced heart pains and started shouting for help.
This unfortunate incident caused the voting exercise to be temporarily halted for him to be attended to before he was rushed to the Kintampo Government Hospital for treatment but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
News of his death has thrown the entire area into a state of mourning as his demise has come as a shock to many residents who had seen him in healthy condition earlier in the day.
