President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday asked Ghanaians to ignore Gabby Otchere-Darko, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) leader, for saying that Mahama has conceded defeat in the 2016 presidential election.
In a tweet, Gabby said he had heard that Mahama had conceded defeat.
Apparently, Gabby had mistaken President Mahama for an impostor of Edward Mahama who congratulated Akufo-Addo in a tweet for purportedly winning the election.
Edward Mahama denounced the tweet on Thursday, saying that it did not come from him.
It is not clear if President Mahama knew that Gabby had been misled by false tweet, but he fired a tweet of his own, which urged Ghanaians to ignore Gabby's remark.
We will bring you more election updates as they come in.
