Speaking at a press conference held at the National Democratic Congress's (NDC) head office, Mr.Anyidoho condemned the actions of the opposition New Patriotic Party's (NPP) decision to announce the results.

He said: "This act by the NPP is not only irresponsible and reckless, but is a treasonous act that was perpetuated to undermine the security of the country. The NPP is clearly rehashing 2004 and 2012, what they did, and we all remember it."
Mr. Anyidoho stated that the NDC had its own means and measures to collate the results but said that his party would refrain from making any announcements in order to not undermine the integrity of the Electoral Commission's announcement.
The governing NDC's Deputy General Secretary's comments comes after the opposition NPP, according to provisional results, announced that its presidential candidate, Nana Akufo Addo, had won the 2016 presidential elections and asked sitting president, John Dramani Mahama, to concede defeat.
