Ghanaians take back their praise for the EC as declaration of results delay

The chairperson and the entire Electoral Commission of Ghana was until a few hours ago, drenched in praise (for a job well done) by Ghanaians who had earlier on cast their votes in the on-going general elections in the country.

However, the delay in announcing official results - due to alleged over voting in some areas - is leading to a dwindling confidence in the EC and their ability to carry out a free and fair elections.

Award winning investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure wrote that the delay in releasing the official results was causing more harm than good in a rather tense environment.

Senior editor at Multimedia, Ato Dadzie who praised the EC yesterday during the smooth process of voting says he has taken back all he said about the commission.

TV personality Kwame Gyan also expressed concern over the delay

And people's confidence began to dwindle

On Twitter, someone was not up for a 72 hour wait
