Kwame Dzokoto loses in Tarkwa Nsuaem Constituency

Popular actor, Seth Kwame Dzokoto, has lost his bid to be elected Member of Parliament of the Tarkwa Nsuaem Constituency in the Western Region.

Dzokoto, who had been heavily tipped to win and had contested on the ticket on the National Democratic Congress (NDC), managed to poll only 24,044 votes.

George Mireku Duker, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) contestant, garnered 42,594 votes.

In other results, the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) candidate, Eric Seedof Asiedu Simpey, managed 1,624 votes.

The Convention Peoples Party (CPP) candidate, Kwakye John Justice, had 206 votes.

Meanwhile, the NDC has warned the NPP that it risks sparking violence with its insistence that Akufo-Addo has won the election.
