Provisional results provided by the Electoral Commission of Ghana show that residents of the Awutu Senya East Constituency are not impressed with the Kasoa Interchange by incumbent president, John Dramani Mahama.
Simply put, the people decided they wanted change not an interchange.
On 29th November, President John Dramani Mahama, commissioned the first phase of the Kasoa interchange as a major infrastructure development in the constituency.
As per previous voter patterns, the interchange was expected to rake in votes for the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Unfortunately, that failed because the NPP garnered more votes than the NDC did.
While Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo won by 33,823 votes representing 56.40 percent, President Mahama garnered 25,153 representing 41.94 percent.
The incumbent Member of Parliament, Hawa Koomson who doubles as the Parliamentary Candidate on the ticket of the NPP also retained her seat with an impressive gap.
