A representative of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the Electoral Commission (EC)’s National Collation Centre (Strong Room), Alhaji Haruna Rashid Ibrahim, has said that President John Mahama has a slight lead over Nana Akufo-Addo.
With 212 constituencies collated by the EC so far, Rashid Ibrahim told Accra-based Joy FM that he was confident that Mahama would maintain its slight edge over Akufo-Addo.
He conceded that the NDC had lost several parliamentary seats in the country, but insisted that case was different for Mahama. He said at the end of collation, the EC would Mahama winner of the election.
Rashid Ibrahim also said the NDC had documented several instances of over-voting in constituencies in the Ashanti Region and the Eastern Region.
Joy FM’s latest collated result from 244 constituencies has Akufo-Addo leading by 53.83%. Mahama has 44.38%.
