On Tuesday, December 6th, 2016, Chairperson of the Electoral Commission told the press and general public what items voters were not allowed to take to the ballot box, of which phones were one of them.

She said: “No mobile phones, food, pens or drinks will be allowed at the voting area.”

Hiplfe artist, A-Plus, broadcast his entire experience live on face book. Actor, John Dumelo, on the other hand took a snapchat photo of his thumbprinted ballot sheet on Snapchat with a caption reading: “I’m voting for peace, stability and economic property [prosperity] #toaso.”
