According to Hassan Ayariga's calculations, the total number of votes calculated currently does not match up to the total number of voters from the 2012 elections.

He stated that even as the NPP's Nana Addo was seemingly taking a lead as per results available, the lead was in the wrong direction and could result in a shock for the party. "President Mahama is around 4.5 millions which means that he has not hit the 5.5 million voters he got last year", Hassan Ayariga stated.

He, however, quickly noted that the President was a "gentleman of the people" who was willing to accept the result whether they were favorable to him or not.

He also noted that the election might run into a second round. "We have 50 million voters, and we are not hitting the total number of voters and that means that no one will get the required 50+1% of voters", Hassan Ayariga explained as the reason why there could be a second round for this election.

When asked by the interviewer on why he was wearing an all-white attire like John Dramani Mahama, Hassan Ayariga asserted that he was wearing white to represent victory for the National Democratic Congress. "For victory of course; victory for Ghana, victory for President John Mahama", he said "I believe the president will win the elections, I have campaigned for the president...to continue with a second term, that is the JM Toaso".

He added that John Mahama had not asked his supporters to jubilate only because he is waiting on the EC to declare official results.
