On her Facebook wall, just hours after the official election results were declared, Lordina Mahama expressed her pleasure as having served as the first lady of Ghana, commending her husband for his service to the country and was hopeful that Nana Akufo-Addo would 'wholeheartedly and selflessly' be dedicated to the service of Ghana.

On Friday night, the electoral commission announced Nana Akufo-Addo as the president-elect following a 53.4% win over John Mahama's 44.4%.
In his first public speech after his victory, Nana Addo stated that he will the president for all Ghanaians and assured that the promises made during his campaign will be fulfilled.
