Some supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are said to have viciously attacked Wofa K, a popular comedian and National Democratic Congress (NDC) activist.
Reports say Wofa K was attacked because of his support for President John Mahama and the NDC ahead of Wednesday's election.
Wofa K appeared in several television ads that mocked policies of the NPP.
He would praise Mahama's performance in government, and then twisting his mouth, he would say:" E dey be kurkur".
His activism for the NDC appears to have angered some NPP supporters, who pounced on him and hit his head with an object after Nana Akufo-Addo was declared president-elect of Ghana.
Similar attacks on NDC members by their NPP counterparts across the country have been reported by the media.
