It came as a shock to ardent supporters of the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) when President Mahama was defeated in the just ended general elections.
President Mahama, the youngest president in Ghana's 4th republic really brought some swag to the presidency!
Mahama was not just an intelligent and eloquent leader who understood the nuances of governance, but also was he a very charismatic leader who united the political fronts of the country.
Despite some flaws in his administration - high taxes and the protracted energy crisis - Mahama can still be remembered as the leader of infrastructural developments in Ghana.
Having succeeded his predecessor, Prof Mills of blessed memory, Mahama never traded his youthfulness for the stress of the job. He was fun and loving.
His greatest legacy will be how he peacefully conceded defeat to his main rival, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo - a great achievement which saw the world gasping in awe.
We wish our dear president well in all his endeavors.
