Erstwhile AC Milan player Kevin Prince Boateng has explained how he wasted his hard earned fortune on cars, clubs and friends whom he claimed he should not have been with.
The Ghanaian international in a remorseful tone explained that he should have spent the money he made from football in a good way considering how he was raised up in a poor neighborhood.
The 29-year-old said it was difficult for him to cope with the trappings of fame which forced him to squander his fortune in two years.
''It was difficult for me because I spent all my money in two years on cars, watches, nightclubs, and friends who really were not.
''It is important to recognize the bad in life as I have made lots of mistakes and maybe I am smarter now,'' Boateng explained.
Kevin Prince Boateng currently plays for La Liga club Las Palmas scoring five goals this season in all competition.
