2016 has been characterised by both good and bad decisions by many who were looking forward to some level of politically affiliated prosperity.
A lot of Ghanaian celebrities in an unprecedented all time high, boldly and openly chose sides in the political clash between the two main political parties, NDC and NPP for the highest office in Ghana.
In what some described as a "risky" move, top actors, singers and entertainers sported party colours and vigouroursly campaigned for their various parties. At the end of the day, some won and others lost.
However it is important to note that a number of celebrities stuck out their heads for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and must not be forgotten for their brave move even though many have forgotten they ever showed their faces and were at the mercy of Ghanaians' sharp tongues.
1. Agya Koo
The ace Akan actor who was rumoured to have defected to the NPP after the NDC paid him no attention was quite "lucky" with his decision to go with Nana Addo. Life will be good.
2. Hanks Anuku
Aside Dele Momodu, Hanks may have been the other most verbally abused Nigerian who went partisan during the elections in Ghana. At least, he was on the winning side.

3. Bibi Bright
She had no shame at all sticking her head out as a die-hard NPP supporter and used her social media extensively for campaigning for the party.
Out of nowhere, the "new" Praye duo were all over the news for endorsing Nana Addo and NPP. People cursed and insulted, but who is smiling now?
5. Daddy Lumba
Daddy Lumba has been loyal to the NPP since the party went into opposition over 8 years ago and may be up for better days since they are finally back in power.
6. Lucky Mensah
Amidst several controversies including the fact that Lucky was a member of the NDC, this artiste stuck to his decision to switch sides and it may have been the biggest success story of the year for him.
7. Ruff and Smooth
We haven't heard many hits recently from the duo but we heard of them when they stood by Nana in his bid for the seat. Now they can sit by him... if there is space still available.
Although people believe the veteran actor had no impact on the campaign, he may be one of the happiest men in Ghana at the moment because he is on the winning side.
Do you think it is a good idea for celebrities to openly declare support for political parties?
