NDC director of elections killed in road crash

Mr Yaw Asiedu, the Central Regional Director of Elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reportedly been killed in a road accident early Tuesday.

The Central Regional Chairman of the NDC, Mr Allotey Jacobs confirmed the sad news.

Mr Asiedu was said to be transporting the NDC copies of Pink Sheets (Statement of Poll and Results sheets) to the national headquarters of the party in Accra, when the unfortunate accident happened.

Mr Eric Essuah, the Central Regional Treasurer of the party who was also travelling with Mr Asiedu sustained a number injuries and is currently receiving treatment at the 37 Military Hospital.

The accident reportedly happened along the Apam-Winneba road on the Cape Coast-Accra highway.

Reports state that they were initially taken to the Specialist and Trauma Hospital in Winneba, but were later transferred to the 37 Military Hospital where Yaw Asiedu died.
