Maverick politician and Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Oohene Agyapong has refuted notions that he is interested in a ministerial position in the new government to be inaugurated in January 2017.

According to him, taking up a position in government will not give him the space to properly handle his business affairs.
Speaking in interview on Adom TV on Tuesday, Kennedy Agyapong said that his goal was to remain an entrepreneur and create jobs for people.

He said that, "as a minister, you cannot travel on your own, you always have to ask permission from the President and I can’t afford that as a business man, it will destroy my businesses."
He further added that he was confident he could change lives of many people which is why he would stay a private business man.
He advised that the persons who would be lucky to be handed positions in government should not engage in corrupt activities, but ensure that they serve the people of Ghana.

He also noted that the ongoing celebrations of Ghanaians across the country proved that people were finally free, and as such the Nana Addo administration could not afford to fail them.
There have been many speculations floating across some news sites and on social media about persons who would be likely awarded positions in the new government. Currently, the transition process from the NDC administration to the NPP administration seems to be moving along smoothly.
