President John Dramani Mahama will be going on a thank you and farewell tour starting from Tuesday, December 20th, 2016. This tour will be the president's final countrywide tour before the January 7th presidential inauguration date which will see President Elect, Nana Akufo Addo, fully assume the highest office in the land.

Starting from the Upper East Region and then followed by the Upper West, the president will visit all ten regions in Ghana where he's expected to meet traditional, and religious leaders of the local community. The president will also be meeting regional executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during his countrywide tour.

President Mahama's farewell/Thank you tour follows the December 7th general election results announcement, in which the incumbent NDC party suffered a crushing defeat by the incoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) in both presidential and legislative contests.
The president's tour is expected to culminate in the Greater Accra Region on Friday, December 30th, 2016.
