An artist left a dress in the Dead Sea, and here is what she received

Sigalit Landau is the artist from Israel. In 2014, she decided to bring to life an unusual project. She left a black dress in the very salty Black Sea for two years.

She was inspired to create this project by a performance back from 1920 about a young hasidic woman (religious movement in Judaism) who became obsessed with the spirit of her dead lover. Each three months during the next two years, Landau was checking the dress and making the photos of the progress. In result, she received a real piece of art containing of sparkling salt crystals. It looked like the accurate copy of the main character’s dress from that performance. After the dress was taken out of the see, the artist made these fabulous photos.

The result of this magical experiment can be seen in the London gallery London’s Marlborough Contemporary where it will be exhibited till the 3rd of September. If someone is going to visit London, go to see it, you will never regret this!
