It looks to many as though the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was clutching on to straws after their disappointing defeat to the New Patriotic Party in the 2016 General Elections.

Earlier, the Ministry of Finance approved a request from National Service Scheme asking for an increase in the allowances received by the personnel.

The increase has been an issue that has been in discussion for a while.

James Agyenim Boateng, a Staffer at the Office of the Vice President confirmed the news via Twitter.

He tweeted, “the approved rate translates to 40% of the graduate entry level on the 2017 Single Spine Salary Structure”.

His tweet added that the said increment would take effect in January 2017.
