President John Dramani Mahama who recently visited Nigeria, was treated to the Gospel version of his official campaign song for the 2016 election, Onaapo, at this year’s Ovation Carol held on Sunday December 18.
The annual event themed ‘Christmas in Lagos’ was held at the Eko Hotel Convention Centre at Victoria Island.
After the December 7 elections, President Mahama lost to Nana Akufo Addo of the leading opposition New Patriotic Party. However, the official song for the president’s campaign became an instant hit in Ghana for satirical reasons.

Since the out-going president of Ghana was among several dignitaries that graced the 9th edition of the event organized by Chief Dele Momodu, publisher of the famous Ovation Magazine, they decided to have a slight joke and treat "Onaapo," the hit song that had taken over the country since the elections.
Nigeria’s Dee Aja who performed the popular campaign song delivered a new rendition of the track Sunday night.
