Slash down NSS allowances if you can't pay - NDC replies NPP

The outgoing NDC administration has responded to the cries of the incoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

Mahama's outgoing administration recently appointed new heads of the NCCE and the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) with the most dramatic being the 60 percent increment of allowances for national service personnel.

Member of parliament on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress, Richard Quashigah has justified the increment stating that it is good for the young people of Ghana.

"If they think the allowance given the national service personnel is inappropriate or too much and the public purse cannot bare it, they should have room to do a review and they must be able to explain to Ghanaians why they are doing a downward review of an earlier decision taken by the previous government. So there is no tying of hands in this,” he argued.

The increment in NSS prices will see personnel have their allowances increased from 350 Cedis to 569 cedis.
