A chief in the Ashanti region, Nana Ekon Ansa Boafo has been distooled after he acted as a pooling agent in the recent general elections that took place on the 7th of December, 2016.
Nana Ekon Ansa Boafo who is the Ankobeahene of Essienimpong, went against the code of ethics of Ghanaian chiefs to engage in partisan politics, even to the extent of physically acting as a Polling Agent for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
As a result of his distoolment, Nana Boafo is not to be seen performing any official traditional duty near or at the palace nor in the name of the palace whatsoever.
The spokesperson for the Essienimpong Traditional Authority, Kyeame Kwasi Anarfi confirmed the distoolment to Graphic Online.
According to him, Nana Boafo has verbally been informed of the distoolment and that the traditional ritual of the distoolment will be performed after the funeral of the Asantehemaa, Nana Afia Serwaa Kobi Ampem.
