Commercial motorbike operators, popularly known as "Okada" are appealing on the incoming NPP administration to reconsider the law which stops them from going about their business.

Ghana's road traffic regulation set in 2012 stipulates that “the licensing authority shall not register a motorcycle to carry a fare-paying passenger” with the exception of courier and delivery services..

The Okada business have been described as a nuisance by several Ghanaians who claim the business is ground for criminals to execute their acts of snatching bags in town.

Meanwhile, the Okada drivers believe the main motive behind their business is due to concerns of vehicular traffic by a few road users.
