The expectations that go with Christmas get bigger each year.
As such, if your pocket does not get bigger simultaneously, that is a problem.
So, what should you do if you are broke this Christmas?
1. Go to church
There are no gate fees at church and churches would be opened throughout the festivities. Some churches would even organise Christmas parties so just go and get the free food.
2. Binge watch series
Because you are broke, one great way you can enjoy yourself this Christmas is to stay indoors. Just make sure that before you go home for the holidays, you stock up on all the best series there are around and then watch them throughout the season.

3. Best time to break up
It’s Christmas, you are broke, and falling out of love with bae. Just break up. Ending a relationship that you are not excited about anymore at this time of the year will save you all the money and time you would have put into a gift.
4. Go to any party
Go to any party that you are invited to and eat all the free food you can get. Even if you are not invited, this is Ghana; just bath and show up.
5. Fake illness
Telling people you are not well at this time of the year will be bring a sense of pity for you. It will take away their urge to ask you for Christmas gifts and they will even give you presents instead. But be care, faking sickness might result in an actual sickness.
6. Borrow and Spend Big
You have been working and schooling for 12 months, you deserve a treat. However, if you are broke, just take a loan from a close friend and cannot pamper yourself this Christmas. You deserve it.
If you are broke, the best thing to do is to bury yourself in books. It may not sound exciting, but you will reap the benefits later
