The Ghana Police Service through the Director-General of Operations, Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has stated that the [police] service will be cracking down on the illegal importation of fire crackers during the Christmas season.

Speaking at the official launch of the Police Service's new security operation termed, "Operation Father Christmas 2016," Director-General of the Ghana Police Service stated that regardless of the initiatives the service has undertaken, efforts the to rid the market of the illegal firecrackers had been unsuccessful since some traders still sold the products.
