Vice President Elect, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, has promised Nurse and teacher trainees that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government will reinstate the nurse and teacher trainee allowances once it assumes office.

Dr. Bawumia made his comments during his and President Elect, Nana Akufo Addo's courtesy visit to the Overlord of the Mamprugu Traditional Area, Nyiri Naa Bohagu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga's Palace in Nalirigu.

The Vice President Elect also said that the funds used to pay for the teacher and nurse trainee allowances will be captured in the NPP government's financial budget in the 2017.

Dr. Bawumia also touched on the matter of the NPP's $1 million for each constituency campaign promise, saying that he still felt that that campaign promise was feasible, and that the NPP administration intended to implement the initiative in 2017.

The Vice President Elect also mentioned that the Nana Akufo Addo administration will begin implementing the one village one dam policy in the first year of its four year term
