The outgoing president of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama was giving a rousing welcome by the people of Bole.

The president had gone to Bole, his home constituency, in the Northern Region of Ghana to spend the Christmas holiday.
According to a report by the Accra-based radio station, Joy FM, many people had lined up on the streets of Bole on Christmas Eve, 24th December, when the news of the President's visit spread through the town.

The report continues to state that it was an emotional welcome for the president and the people of Bole.
The President leaves office after January 7 2017, following the governing National Democratic Congress' defeat in the 2016 general elections. Residents used his return to the region to show him support and love.
The New Patriotic Party's Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who emerged victorious after the December 7th elections is expected to be sworn in as president of Ghana come January 7th.
