British High Commissioner, Jon Benjamin faces the wrath of Ghanaians on Twitter for trying to disrespect President Mahama

It all started when the diplomat twittered: “In conversation with President-elect @NAkufoAddo yesterday morning. I also called on President @JDMahama in the pm.

The post didn’t go down we'll with some Ghanaians, especially Sports journalist, Gary Al-Smith, who responded: “Right here. Been off twitter a couple hours. Now catching up. Now that @JonBenjamin19 is lampooning our president people finally take note.”

The British High Commissioner then responded to Gary’s tweet, saying: “Sorry Gary, that's not a correct assertion. I have huge respect for President @JDMahama, having worked closely with him on several issues.”

But Mr Benjamin’s tweet that seeks to correct the impression that he is disrespecting President Mahama was too little too late, as Ghanaians ‘opened fire’ on him.

Mind you this is not the first time the diplomat has been in the Ghanaian news space, he has on several occasion been in the news and accused of not acting like a diplomat in many instances.

Below are some tweets on the matter.
