The Black Stars of Ghana on Wednesday began training for the 2017 AFCON with a first training session in Accra at the St.Thomas Aquinas Senior High School park.
In all the 22 players named by coach Avram Grant showed up at the premises for the drills.
Also, the players who showed up were subjected to a medical test supervised by Team Doctor Baba Adams. It consisted primarily of a mandatory blood which is part of the doping protocol of CAF ahead of the official naming of AFCON squads.
Meanwhile, Avram Grant is expected to officially name Ghana's AFCON 2017 squad on Saturday, December 31 at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Headquarters at Ridge.
The Black Stars are four-time champions of Africa. Ghana are in Group D of the upcoming AFCON with Egypt, Uganda and Mali.
