Founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and former president, Jerry John Rawlings has finally diagnosed the actual cause of President Mahama's defeat in the just ended general election.
In a fierce speech at the 35th Anniversary of the 31st December revolution in Accra, an angry looking Rawlings revealed that the shocking defeat of the NDC was due to the corrupt, uncouth, and uncultured government officials President Mahama worked with.
“I believe that this time around our people have seen through it and we would embark on the right steps to regain our moral high ground. The moral high ground that we have abandoned and on which the new leader [Nana Akufo Addo) is now standing,” Jerry Rawlings stated.
President Mahama suffered a humiliating defeat in the 2016 general election having garnered just 44.40 percent of the total votes cast while Nana Addo of the NPP won by 53.85 percent of valid votes cast.
