The debate on whether a defeated President Mahama would consider standing for the 2020 elections still rages on in the camp of the NDC.
Just recently, a top member of the party, Stephen Atubiga has revealed that John Mahama will never contest the elections especially as the party remains divided internally.
Atubiga is calling on NDC officials to eschew the betrayal and disgrace that the party subjected the president to in the just ended parliamentary and presidential elections.
“JDM will not contest till we put a lot of things in place to avoid another betrayal and humiliation”, he said.
Earlier on, Sports minister and MP elect for the Ododidodoo constituency, Nii Lante Vanderpuye revealed in an interview with StarrFM that John Mahama will be contesting the 2020 election "whether he likes it or not" - an assertion which got controversial pastor, Owusu Bempah prophesy a massive and historic defeat for the party should Mahama be retained in 2020.
