The National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress, Kofi Adams has asked that Ghanaians stop criticizing former president Rawlings for snubbing the AMA boss Alfred Oko Vanderpuije at the parliament house on Thursday.
According to Kofi Adams, the outgoing Accra Mayor brought the embarrassing situation on himself.
On Thursday, as national stakeholders were heading into the parliament house to hear the last State of the Nation Address by President Mahama, Mr Oko Vanderpuije attempted to interact with former president Rawlings as he was heading into the building.
However, the latter did to not want to engage the AMA boss, which he seemed to make clear as is shown in the video below:
According to Kofi Adams who was also a former spokesperson for the former president said that Oko Vanderpuije should have observed protocol.
Speaking on Okay FM, Mr Adams said, "Okoe Vanderpuiye breached protocol. He should have known better. Even Rawlings directed him not to walk on the Red Carpet after initially avoiding him but he forcefully went through which was not right."
While Kofi Adams admitted the incident was unfortunate, he stated it would discourage any future actions of protocol breach such as this.
