Today January 7, 2017, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was inaugurated as the 5th president of the 4th Republic. It is a day that has been anticipated by many Ghanaians since he won the elections in December 2016.
The Black Star Square, the venue for the inauguration was filled with dignitaries from across Africa and envoys from the international community, and was majorly filled, both inner and outer quarters by supporters of the NPP from across the country.
Many people started their journey to the Black Star Square even before the day arrived, and some arrived last night and spent the night sleeping on the pavements near the Square.
