The reverend minster believes that he is obliged to speak the truth and ills of society at all times without fear, favor or political idealogy.
In an interview with GHOne TV before the inauguration, Prof. Martey explained why he wasn’t going to stop criticizing administrations including the current Nana Addo-led administration if they should fault in their duties.
‘I am a servant of God and I am obliged to speak the truth. God saw what was happening to us in the past, we spoke against it and we were insulted. We thank God he has listened to us. Some of us will speak today, tomorrow and in the future against ills of society,’ he explained.

The servant of God also indicated that the people of Ghana could not tolerate the sort of leadership being promulgated by the Mahama government hence the decision to vote the party out of power.
President Mahama and his appointees were perceived to be corrupt, insolent and incompetent by the public.
He, however expressed his fervent hope in Nana Addo who also happens to be a practicing Presbyterian to do the right thing and change Ghana’s fortunes for the better.
