The Black Stars of Ghana managed a 2-0 win over Uzbekistan side Bunyodkor in a friendly played on Tuesday as preparation for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
The first half of the game was one sided. The Black Stars dominated play and came close to scoring on several occasions but failed to.
The match also saw coach Avram Grant giving almost each member of his squad a chance to play.
But it took captain of the Black Stars, Asamoah to register the first goal in the 67th minute with his first touch after replacing Jordan Ayew.
The second goal was scored by Frank Acheampong, he tapped home the second goal in the 75th after Schalke 04’s Bernard Tekpetey had done all the work.
The side is expected to engage in another warm-up game before enplaning for Gabon.
The Stars will kick-start their campaign on Tuesday, January 17, three days after the tourney starts.
Ghana plays Uganda before taking on Mali and Egypt.
