Former President John Dramani Mahama says he is no longer interested in keeping his official residence as part of his retirement package.
According to a ClassFMonline news report, Mahama has written to his successor, President Nana Akufo-Addo rescinding his interest.
The letter also revealed the former president is ready to move out of the bungalow. He noted in the letter that the state should provide him with an alternative bungalow whenever it is ready to do so.
Per Ghana’s 1992 Constitution, Mr Mahama was supposed to vacate the property a day before the investiture of President Nana Akufo-Addo. His failure to do so caused huge controversy.
